KODIAC COMMONS
Every thread starts from a paper.
A citation-bound literature forum. Mechanism, methodology, assay chemistry, statistical power, and results that disagree with each other. Nothing about people.
Kodiac Commons exists so that people reading the same literature can argue about it in one place. To open a thread you anchor it to a document: a DOI, a PubMed identifier, or a Kodiac monograph. The thread is then about that document. What it measured, how it measured it, and whether the result holds.
Reading is open to anyone. Posting requires a verified email address and nothing else. There is no institutional check, no uploaded credential, and no application, for the same reason the terms of purchase give: we do not ask you to prove who you are, so the rules have to be structural instead.
THE RULES, IN FULL
1. What this is
Kodiac Commons is a literature forum. It is not a product forum and it is not a support desk. Order questions, lot questions and certificate requests go to support@kodiac.bio. Nobody in the forum can see your order.
2. Every thread needs a citation
This is the rule everything else hangs off. To open a thread you anchor it to one of three things: a DOI, a PubMed PMID, or a Kodiac monograph slug. No citation, no thread. The field is required and the post does not save without it.
Replies do not need their own citation, but a reply making a factual claim is expected to say where the claim comes from.
3. Why the citation requirement exists
Kodiac biolabs supplies reference materials for laboratory research. Everything we sell is a research compound intended for in vitro and laboratory study, not for human or veterinary use, not for clinical or diagnostic use, and not for any therapeutic purpose. That is the basis on which the company operates, and it is not a line we paste at the bottom of pages. The compliance reference puts it plainly: our protection, and yours, is behavioral, not merely a label.
A vendor-hosted forum full of personal accounts is the clearest evidence anyone could ask for that a product is intended for human use, and intended use is the single question that decides whether a research compound stays a research compound. Starting from a paper makes the wrong post hard to write, because you cannot open with what happened to you when the first field asks for a DOI. That is the design. It is a required field rather than a moderator reading every post and guessing.
4. What you can post about
- Mechanism and pharmacology.
- Methodology critique: design, controls, blinding, confounds.
- Assay and analytical chemistry, including what a chromatogram actually shows.
- Statistical power and effect size, including whether an n of eight supports the abstract.
- Conflicting literature: two papers, one question, opposite results.
- Certificate and purity discussion, including how to read one.
- Storage chemistry of sealed material. Sealed vial storage of a reagent is a handling property. What happens after the vial is opened is preparation, and that is rule 5.
- Monograph corrections, which are welcome and are the fastest route to getting one fixed.
5. What you cannot post about, ever
Personal use of any kind, by you or by anyone else. No account of taking, giving, or observing a compound in a person or an animal. The euphemisms do not help. My research subject, a friend, a colleague, hypothetically, and asking for someone all read as first-person use and are handled as first-person use.
- Dosing. No figures, no ranges, no milligrams per kilogram, no how much.
- Protocols, schedules, cycles, titration, tapering.
- Administration and routes of any kind.
- Reconstitution and working-solution handling.
- Stacking and combination use.
- Outcomes. Results, before and after, worked for me, did nothing.
- Sourcing. Where to buy, who else sells it, what a gram costs, which vendor is real. That covers other vendors, and it covers Kodiac.
- Medical advice, your symptoms, your conditions, your health.
- Any claim that a compound is safe or effective for any use.
Kodiac does not provide dosing information, administration routes, protocols, reconstitution directions for human use, or any other guidance that would support use in a person. We will not provide it if you ask, and neither will this forum. Asking once is not a strike. The answer is no, and it stays no.
6. There are no fields for the things you cannot post
There is no outcome field, no dose field, no duration field, no route field and no subject field. That is not a gap in the build.
7. How moderation works
Every post runs through an automatic check before it publishes. Anything scoring as first-person use, dosing, sourcing or vendor talk is held and never becomes visible.
The check is tuned to over-block, deliberately. A false positive costs you one post and an appeal. A false negative costs the company the basis on which it operates. That trade is not close, so expect it to be occasionally stupid about a sentence that was fine. Rewrite it, or appeal it.
Kodiac is two people. Nothing here is reviewed in real time and nobody is standing by. That is exactly why the rules are built into the schema instead of into a moderation queue.
8. The strike ladder
Strikes are applied automatically. A held post carries no strike, because a held post never published and nothing happened. A strike is issued when a published post is removed under rule 5.
| STRIKE ONE | Post removed, notice sent, nothing else. |
| STRIKE TWO | Post removed, 24 hour mute. |
| STRIKE THREE | Post removed, 7 day mute. |
| STRIKE FOUR | Account banned. |
| EXPIRY | A strike expires 180 days after it is issued. |
| EVASION | Evading a mute or a ban with a second account bans both accounts. That one is not appealable. |
9. How to appeal
Every removal and every mute carries a reference identifier. Send it to support@kodiac.bio and say what you think the check got wrong. One appeal per action. Appealing does not restore the post while it is being looked at. A real false positive gets reversed. A borderline post stays removed, because borderline is the whole reason the check over-blocks.
10. What happens to your posts if you are banned
Your account closes and you cannot post again. Posts that were already published stay up with your display name replaced by a generic label. Posts removed under rule 5 stay removed. Threads other people built on are not deleted because one participant left. If you want your content gone entirely, write to support@kodiac.bio and ask, and we will tell you what we removed.
11. What this forum is not
It is not Kodiac endorsing anything you read here. Posts are written by other users and no person at Kodiac reads them before they publish.
It is not a substitute for reading the source. A citation points at a document. It does not summarise it.
It is not medical advice and it is not a route to any.
12. Nothing here changes anything you already agreed to
The full posture is on the compliance reference, and the purchase terms are in the terms of purchase. Where this page and either of those disagree, they win.
Posting is earned, reading is open
Anyone can read Kodiac Commons without an account. To post, you verify an email address through a one-time link. Kodiac never handles or stores a password for the forum, and there is no field anywhere in it for a credential, an affiliation, or a health detail.
